An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bandar Imam. Top-ranked Petrochimi faced 3rd ranked Army. Host Petrochimi (6-0) smashed guests from Tehran (4-2) 91-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Army. Undefeated Petrochimi have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Army at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Mahram. Petrochimi are looking forward to face Mahram (#5) in Tehran in the next round. Army will play at home against the league's second-placed Tabriz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Ahvaz (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-73 loss to fourth ranked Naft Abadan (5-2) in Ahvaz. Naft Abadan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Ahvaz still closes the standings with seven games lost. Naft Abadan will play against Azad (#6) in Tehran in the next round. Ahvaz will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Yes All Gorgan (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-71 loss to sixth ranked Azad (3-3) in Tehran on Friday evening. Azad maintains sixth position with 3-3 record. Newly promoted Yes All Gorgan still closes the standings with six games lost. Azad will meet higher ranked Naft Abadan (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yes All Gorgan will play against Shahrdari Gorgan (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Gorgan was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Mahram (4-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (1-5). Mahram defeated Shahrdari Gorgan 77-62. Mahram moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Army. Shahrdari Gorgan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Mahram's next round opponent will be league's leader Petrochimi in Bandar Imam and it may be the game of the week. Shahrdari Gorgan will play against Yes All Gorgan (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
