Rouzbeh
Arghavan
Shahrdary Tabriz (Superleague) landed 29-year old international power forward Rouzbeh Arghavan (214-110kg-88) from Petrochimi. In 32 Superleague games he averaged 6.9ppg and 3.1rpg last season. He helped them to win the league title (twice).
The previous (15-16) season Arghavan played at Azad where in 30 Superleague games he had 10.8ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0spg and 1.1bpg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Honorable Mention.
Arghavan has been also a member of Iranian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Iranian senior team since 2010 and previously for University National Team back in 2009.
Arghavan also represented Iran at the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon this year. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 2.2ppg, 1.4rpg.
Arghavan has played previously for two other teams: Zob Ahan and Khorasan.
His game is described as: A rough inside player who isn't afraid of contacts, instead he loves to bang and to battle for a rebound or a loose ball. Has a very solid body and long arms, plays the 5 position but can spend time even at the 4, thanks to good shooting range.
