Haddadi
Sichuan Blue Whales (CBA) inked 32-year old Iranian international center Hamed Haddadi (218-115kg-85). It is actually his comeback to Blue Whales as he has played here before. Haddadi played most recently at Petrochimi in Iranian Superleague. In 9 games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.2ppg, 11.1rpg, 3.3apg and 1.8bpg last season. He helped them to win the league title. A very good season in his career as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Center of the Year and voted to 1st Team. Haddadi also played that season for Blue Whales where in 40 CBA games he averaged remarkable 25.2ppg, 16.0rpg (#2 in the league), 4.8apg, 1.2spg and 2.0bpg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA 3rd Team.
Among other achievements Haddadi received Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year award back in 2014.
He has been also a member of Iranian international program for some years. Haddadi has regularly played for Iranian senior team since 2004 and previously for U20 National Team in 2004.
He represented Iran at the FIBA Asia Challenge in Tehran (Iran) last year. Haddadi's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 8 games: Score-5 (18.0ppg), Reb-1 (13.8rpg), 2.6apg, Blocks-1 (2.5bpg), FGP: 49.0%, FT: 69.6%.
Haddadi is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in NBA (Phoenix Suns), NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors) and China (Eagles).
Haddadi's game is described as: An inside player with great instinct for the rebound and two very strong hands. He's very coordinated, knows ho to do with the ball and loves to work in practice. Can score from inside and can hit a shot from mid-range, needs to improve his defense and his toughnees, at present he seems a little too soft fro the NBA battles in the paint. Also, he is smaller than the 7-2 he is listed at..
