Irish-Australian Andrew James Ogilvy (211-C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Azad and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 28-year old center had the game-high 17 points adding four rebounds for Azad in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Kashan (#4, 2-4) with 34-point margin 83-49. Azad maintains the 2nd position in their group in Iranian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Azad will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. Ogilvy just recently signed at Azad, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Andrew James Ogilvy averages just after three games 16.0ppg and 9.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old international center Asghar Kardoust (212-C-86) of Group 2 second-ranked Arak. Kardoust impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Arak to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Army (#4, 1-4) 80-52. This victory allowed Arak to move up to second position in Group 1. His team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Kardoust is well-known by Arak fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was former international center Masoud Soleimani (207-C) of Kashan (#4). Soleimani scored 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Soleimani's great performance Kashan lost 49-83 to #2 ranked Azad. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Kashan not to end season at such low position in Group 2, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Soleimani could try to bring Kashan's a little bit higher in the standings. Soleimani has a very solid season. In 23 games in Iran he scored 10.6ppg. He also has 6.2rpg and FGP: 65.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. James White (201-F/G-82) of Petrochimi - 10 points and 7 rebounds
5. Dominique Jones (193-G-88) of Azad - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Daniel Johnson (210-C/F-88) of Petrochimi - 18 points and 6 rebounds
7. Ali Baheran (188-SG-86) of Azad - 5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Mohammad Jamshidi (199-SF-91) of Petrochimi - 11 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Oshin Sahakian (200-PF-86) of Petrochimi - 9 points and 6 rebounds
10. Hamed Afagh (193-SG-83) of Arak - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
