Haddadi
Defending champion Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbour (Superleague) tabbed 32-year old Iranian international center Hamed Haddadi (218-115kg-85). It is actually his comeback to Bandar Imam as he has played here before. Haddadi He started the season at Sichuan Blue Whales in Chinese CBA league. In 40 games he averaged impressive 25.2ppg, 16.0rpg (#2 in the league), 4.8apg, 1.2spg and 2.0bpg this season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA 3rd Team. The last season Haddadi played at Petrochimi where in four Superleague games he had very remarkable stats: 18.3ppg, 11.3rpg, 2.0apg, 1.0spg and 2.5bpg.
Among other achievements Haddadi won Chinese CBA championship title in 2016. He received also Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year award back in 2014.
Haddadi has been also a member of Iranian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Iranian senior team since 2004 and previously for U20 National Team in 2004.
Haddadi represented Iran at the FIBA Asia Challenge in Tehran (Iran) last year. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 8 games: Score-5 (18.0ppg), Reb-1 (13.8rpg), 2.6apg, Blocks-1 (2.5bpg), FGP: 49.0%, FT: 69.6%.
Haddadi is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in NBA (Phoenix Suns), D-League (Santa Cruz Warriors) and Iran (Paykan, Saba, Mahram, M.H.Ahvaz and Foolad Mahan) and China (Eagles).
Let's have closer look into Haddadi's outlook: An inside player with great instinct for the rebound and two very strong hands. He's very coordinated, knows ho to do with the ball and loves to work in practice. Can score from inside and can hit a shot from mid-range, needs to improve his defense and his toughnees, at present he seems a little too soft fro the NBA battles in the paint. Also, he is smaller than the 7-2 he is listed at..

DALIAN (FIBA Asia Cup 2017) - Navid Niktash raised plenty of eyebrows this season while playing for the British Basketball League's London Lions and now he'll be looking to do the same for Iran's national team. If Niktash, a French-born Iranian, has the sort of eyebrow-raising moments that were common for him this season in the United Kingdom, the...   [read more]
