Round 3 most important game was a defeat of Azad (2-1). They were edged by Kashan (1-1) 66-64 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for international swingman Mohammad Shahrian (193) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 4 assists. The former international center Masoud Soleimani (207) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international Mozafari Rasoul (188-94) with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Azad's coach Farzad Kouhian rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Azad will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Kashan will try to continue on its current victory against Azad in Tehran.
Petrochimi smashed Shahrdari Gorgan in Bandar Imam 98-68. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). James White accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Sasoon Abramian (208-87) came up with 16 points for Shahrdari Gorgan in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shahrdari Gorgan will play next round against strong Naft Abadan trying to get back on the winning streak. Petrochimi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.

Army's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Asghar Kardoust who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

It was a good game for Ryan Richards who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Naft Abadan's coach Hemad Sameri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naft Abadan's next round opponent will be Shahrdari Gorgan (#5) on the road.

Petrochimi smashed Shahrdari Gorgan in Bandar Imam 98-68. The game without a history. Petrochimi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Petrochimi forced 19 Shahrdari Gorgan turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The game between Top Four teams took place in Abadan. host Naft Abadan (2-1) smashed Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-1) 100-80. The game was mostly controlled by Naft Abadan. Shiraz a.s Pipe was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naft Abadan dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Shiraz a.s Pipe's 44. They outrebounded Shiraz a.s Pipe 53-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. Naft Abadan players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists.
