Marko Popovic (ex Start Lublin) joins Tabriz - Feb 22, 2017

Shahrdary Tabriz (Superleague) agreed terms with 33-year old guard Marko Popovic (193-84, agency: Stealth Sport). He is a dual citizen owning also Bosnia and Herzegovina passport. Popovic played last season at Start Lublin in Polish PLK league. In 16 games he had 7.4ppg, 1.5rpg, 3.6apg and 1.0spg.
Part of previous (2014-15) season he spent at Dinamo Tbilisi in Superleague where in 7 games he recorded 10.4ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.9apg and 1.9spg. Popovic helped them to win the cup. He also spent pre-season at Smederevo in Serbian KLS that year. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound. Popovic was a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina Senior National Team back in 2009.
He is quite experienced player. Popovic has played also professionally in Greece (Gymnastikos Olympia Larissas), Slovenia (Zlatorog), Spain (UCAM Murcia), Montenegro (Ibon Niksic) and Serbia (Vojvodina, Vojvodina Srbijagas, Sloga, Radnicki KG 06 and KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac).
