American-Georgian Forward Quinton Hosley (201-F-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Arak, receiving a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, six rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Army (#8, 5-12) 87-75. Arak maintains the 5th position in Iranian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Arak will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. In the team's last game Hosley had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Arak's top player in his first season with the team. Former Fresno State University star has very solid stats this year. Hosley is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.2ppg), assists (6th best: 3.6apg) and averages impressive 3.1spg and 58.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old Croatian Zvonko Buljan (206-C-87) of Kashan. Buljan had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Kashan lost that game 72-79 to the higher-ranked Chemidor (#4, 10-7). Kashan managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-10 record. Buljan is a newcomer at Kashan, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#2). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-F-87) of Tabriz (#6). Gacesa scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Gacesa's great performance Tabriz lost 82-89 to the higher-ranked Naft Abadan (#2, 14-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Tabriz needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 8 lost games. Gacesa has a great season in Iran. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mohammad Yousofvand (207-C-96) of Azad - 23 points and 6 rebounds
5. Ali Armen Allahverdi (197-F-95) of Azad - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Daequan Cook (195-G-87) of Chemidor - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Arsalan Kazemi (200-SF-90) of Army - 10 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Asghar Kardoust (212-C-86) of Arak - 13 points and 11 rebounds
9. Meisam Mirzaei (210-C-92) of Naft Abadan - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Reza Ranjbar) of Shiraz a.s Pipe - 15 points and 13 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
