The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Tehran. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Chemidor (6-6) to fourth ranked Azad (8-4) 70-68 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chemidor. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Chemidor won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American swingman J.P. Prince (203-87, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. The other American import power forward Joseph Jones (206-86, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 14 points and 4 steals for the winners. Lithuanian power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for Chemidor. Chemidor's coach Javad Rahmatipour tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Azad moved-up to third place, which they share with Arak. Chemidor at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Azad is looking forward to face Kashan (#7) at home in the next round.
