Zvonko
Buljan
29-year old center Zvonko Buljan (206-C-87) had a great game in the last round for Kashan and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 32 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Kashan in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Chemidor (4-5) 81-77. Kashan is placed at 6th position in Iranian league. Kashan is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. In the team's last game Buljan had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kashan's top player in his first season with the team. Texas Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Buljan is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.0ppg. Buljan is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.3rpg) and assists (6th best: 3.3apg).

Second best performed player last round was Arsalan Kazemi (200-SF-90) of Army. He is former international in his first season at Army. In the last game Kazemi recorded impressive double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Army lost that game 61-72 to the higher-ranked Arak (#2, 7-2). This loss caused Army to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Kazemi is a newcomer at Army and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Emad Salmani (188-G-90) of Naft Abadan (#3). Salmani scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Salmani's great performance Naft Abadan lost 71-76 to slightly lower-ranked Tabriz (#5, 5-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Naft Abadan needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Salmani has a very solid season. In 9 games in Iran he scored 6.4ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sean Williams (208-F-86) of Tabriz - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Daequan Cook (195-G-87) of Chemidor - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Nikola Gacesa (206-F-87) of Tabriz - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Rawle Marshall (201-SF-82) of Gorgan - 22 points and 2 rebounds
8. J.P. Prince (203-G/F-87) of Azad - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Sasoon Abramian (208-F/C-87) of Gorgan - 9 points and 15 rebounds
10. Amir Sedighi (203-F-93) of Chemidor - 20 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
