TEHRAN, Iran (Iran Super League):

Last years runners-up Petrochimi are the team to beat this season in the Iranian Super League. Nine rounds have gone, completing the home leg of games for all teams, and the Imam Harbour team has won each of them, the latest coming via a 89-71 result against newcomers Esteghlal Qeshm, which sets the tone for the return leg of the games which starts next Thursday.

Hamyari Zanjan are the other team that has shown tremendous progress this season finishing the nine round of games at the No 4 position.

Foolad Mahan, carrying the flag of Esfahan in the League in the absence of ZobAhan, have done extremely well losing only to Petrochimi in their nine games and are marginally ahead of four-time defending champions Mahram, who are blowing hot and cold so far.

The return games should see more focused action from the top contenders.

Azad University 5-4
