Foolad Mahan Esfahan (Superleague) agreed terms with 32-year old American swingman Chris Williams (199-80, college: Virginia). Player has passed his medical tests yesterday and joined the team. Williams played last season at Goyang Orions in South Korean KBL league. In 54 games last year he was fifth best scorer with impressive 23.8ppg and averaged 10.0rpg, 6.0apg (leader), 2.6spg (leader) and 1.3bpg. He was Asia-Basket.com Korean KBL All-Imports Team and All-Korean KBL 2nd Team.
It will be his second campaign in Iran. In 2010-2011 season he won the championship title with Mahram Tehran.
He has played also professionally in Australia (Kings and Perth Wildcats), China (Qingdao Eagles), Germany (Deutsche Bank Skyliners), Japan, Philippines (Petron Blaze), Turkey (Turk Telekom).
Williams attended University of Virginia until 2002 and it will be his eleventh season as a professional player.

TEHRAN - Mehran Hatami has been named as head coach of the Iranian national basketball team. Hatami is a former basketball player of Iran national team.
