Mahram got to the winning start of their Asia Club Championship. The Iranian powerhouse fired past Falcon of Mongolia in the opener. Samad Nik Khahbahrami (199-F-83) came up with 21 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the winners.
Mahram ensured a stunning start to the game. They erupted for 46 points in the first quarter to pile up a 29-point advantage. The Iranian team stayed in full control throughout the second quarter. They registered a 71:33 halftime advantage. Mahram did not slow down in the second half. Mahram fired 31 points in the third term building an unassailable 52-point advantage. They never looked back en route to the victory. Ratko Varda (215-C/F-79, agency: Beo Basket) had 17 points, while Hamed Afagh (190-SG-83) contributed 15 points for the winners. Nemekhbayar Battulga (G-81) answered with 18 points for Falcon. Bolortugla Purevjev chipped in 16 points in the loss.

Newly promoted Yes All Gorgan (Superleague) landed 30-year old American center Tyronne McNeal (211-120kg-87, college: Miami Dade CC). He played in the summer at Marne in Uruguayan Metropolitan. In 14 games he averaged impressive 21.9ppg, 11.9rpg (#3 in the league), 2.2apg, 1.2spg and 1.2bpg. Among other achievements McNeal's team won Slovakian Cup in 2014. Newly promoted Yes All Gorgan (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette). He played last summer at Garra Canera de Navolato in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 42 games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.8ppg, 6.4rpg, 5.5apg (top 4) and 1.3spg. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Superleague. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Mahram (1-1) recorded a loss in Tehran on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by Army (1-0) 76-74.
