Anthony Grundy (189-G-79, agency: Strategic Sports, college: N.Carolina St.) can not participate in Asian Club Championships due to passport issue. The player who signed a contract 2 weeks ago with Mahram Tehran to help the team during Asian Club Championships and also Iranian Superleague, after taking his passport to US embassy in Athens to renew it , couldn't take it back and the US embassy doesn't give any particular answer to the player to solve his issue. Anthony Grundy who suppose to join team practices a week ago is waiting for his passport to join the team. Meanwhile the club which is getting close to the big tournament shall decide upon their last 12 players today and announce the names to FIBA Asia.
The Asian club championship will be held in Lebanon from 14th to 30th October 2012.

Italy continued their preparation for the upcoming Mediterranean Games. They clashed with Iran in Istanbul. The Azzurri snatched a narrow win at the end. Andrea De Nicolao (185-PG-91) came up with 17 points to lead the winners.

Italy forced Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-F-83) to a turnover in the dying seconds to escape with the victory at the end. Luca Vitali (201-PG-86) nailed 12 points, while Andrea Zerini (200-F-88) added 8 points for the Azzurri. Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami responded with 21 points for Iran.
