Amirhossein Azari (192-SF-98) had a very impressive game in the last round for Chemidor, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 10 (Second Stage). The 18-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, two rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Kashan (#4, 3-5) 77-72. Chemidor maintains the 3rd position in their group in Iranian Superleague. Chemidor is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 4th lost game this season out of 8 games. It was one of impressive evenings for Azari as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Amirhossein Azari averages this season 4.4ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old former international power forward Hossein Rahmati (203-F/C-93) of Kashan. Rahmati had a very good evening with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Kashan lost that game 72-77 to slightly higher-ranked Chemidor (#3, 4-4). This loss caused Kashan to drop to 4th position in Group 2. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Rahmati is one of the most experienced players at Kashan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was former international guard Erfan Nasajpour (177-PG-84) of Tabriz (#3). Nasajpour showcased his all-around game by recording 7 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tabriz, leading his team to a 67-64 win against #4 ranked Army in a game of the week. Tabriz needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group 2. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Nasajpour has a great season in Iran. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.9apg (2nd best). He also has 2.9spg and FGP: 52.1%.
