Irving
The Regular Season in IBL just ended. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games.

The biggest surprise of round 20 was guest Pelita Jaya's (#3) road victory over Pacific Caesar (#5) 70-61 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Pelita Jaya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American point guard Martavious Irving (185-90, college: Kansas St.) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Dwi Haryoko (193-85) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian forward Kevin Loiselle (198-88) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Pacific Caesar's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pelita Jaya (11-4) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position having just one point less than leader Satria Muda. Pacific Caesar at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Aspac.
Leader Satria Muda delivered the thirteenth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Garuda (7-7) 68-62 in Bandung. American guard Tyreek Jewell (185-93, college: St.Francis, NY) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Mohammad Rizal contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Diftha Pratama (186-89) replied with 18 points for Garuda. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Satria Muda have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Garuda at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost.
The game in Pandang was also quite interesting. Second ranked CLS Knights (11-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Hang Tuah (6-9). CLS Knights did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 82-65 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of Ashton Smith who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. JaJuan Smith responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-3 record having just two points less than leader Satria Muda. Hang Tuah lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with NSH GMC.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Salatiga. Local Satya Wacana (1-14) was outscored by eighth ranked NSH GMC (6-9) 109-85. The winners were led by Gary Jacobs who had that evening a double-double by scoring 61 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. NSH GMC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hang Tuah. Satya Wacana at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.

SEA Games: Indonesia come from behind to beat Singapore 70-54 - 30 days ago
They came into the game high on confidence. And for most part of the game, they stayed on top. But 12 missed free throws and an inability to execute plays properly down the stretch cost the Singapore national basketball dearly, leading them to a 54-70 defeat by Indonesia and dropping the side to a 2-1 record. A win would have seen them secure a spot in the semi-finals and also avoid powerhouse Philippines in the knockout stage. The match was also a repeat of the semi-finals in the 2015 SE...   [read more]
