Seagers
28-year old guard David Seagers (188-G-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pacific Caesar and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
He got a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Satya Wacana (#11, 1-13) 85-71. Pacific Caesar maintains the 5th position in Indonesian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pacific Caesar will need more victories to improve their 8-5 record. In the team's last game Seagers had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pacific Caesar's top player in his first season with the team. Dowling College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Seagers is league's best passer with 6.3apg. Seagers is in league's top in and averages solid 2.6spg and 51.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa. He is American guard in his first season at Bima Perkasa. In the last game Corbin recorded impressive double-double of 39 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Bima Perkasa lost that game 60-78 to the higher-ranked Aspac (#3, 10-4). Bima Perkasa is still in a red zone at 10th spot in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Bima Perkasa managed to get this year. Corbin is a newcomer at Bima Perkasa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 6.5rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Chris Ware (203-C-89) of Garuda (#6). Ware scored 27 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Garuda, leading his team to a 75-54 easy win against the lower-ranked JNE BSC (#9, 4-9). Garuda needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 6 lost games. Ware has a very solid season. In 12 games in Indonesia he scored 16.7ppg. He also has 9.2rpg, 2.2bpg and FGP: 51.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nate Maxey (211-C-92) of Satya Wacana - 15 points and 18 rebounds
5. Dom Williams (180-PG) of Aspac - 31 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Kevin Loiselle (198-F-88) of Pacific Caesar - 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists
7. Nate Barfield (206-F/C-88) of NSH GMC - 21 points and 17 rebounds
8. Tyreek Jewell (185-G-93) of Satria Muda - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Jarron Crump (183-PG-92) of Satya Wacana - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Raheem Singleton (182-PG-89) of JNE BSC - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

CLS Knights Ride in Shining Armor to Bring ABL Glory back to Indonesia - 22 days ago
After a two season hiatus from the ASEAN Basketball League, Indonesia is ready to return with CLS Knights Surabaya leading the charge. The last time Indonesia fielded a team in the ABL was back in 2014 with two teams: the Indonesia Warriors and Laskar Dreya South Sumatra. Both sides failed to make the playoffs and the ABL hasn't had a club from Indonesia since. Now Indonesia is back, represented by the proud CLS Knights Surabaya   [read more]

SEA Games: Indonesia come from behind to beat Singapore 70-54 - 2 months ago
They came into the game high on confidence. And for most part of the game, they stayed on top. But 12 missed free throws and an inability to execute plays properly down the stretch cost the Singapore national basketball dearly, leading them to a 54-70 defeat by Indonesia and dropping the side to a 2-1 record. A win would have seen them secure a spot in the semi-finals and also avoid powerhouse Philippines in the knockout stage. The match was also a repeat of the semi-finals in the 2015 SE...   [read more]
