American Guard David Seagers (188-G-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Pacific Caesar, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 28-year old player got a double-double of 32 points and 12 assists, while his team beat NSH GMC (#8, 5-8) 96-85. Pacific Caesar maintains the 5th position in Indonesian IBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pacific Caesar will need more victories to improve their 7-5 record. In the team's last game Seagers had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pacific Caesar's top player in his first season with the team. Former Dowling College star has very solid stats this year. Seagers is in league's top in points (8th best: 22.5ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.5apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 51.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Pacific Caesar's star - 28-year old Canadian Kevin Loiselle (198-F-88). Loiselle had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Pacific Caesar cruised to a 96-85 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked NSH GMC (#8, 5-8). Pacific Caesar's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Loiselle is one of the most experienced players at Pacific Caesar and similarly like David Seagers has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 13.6rpg and 4.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Nate Barfield (206-F/C-88) of NSH GMC (#8). Barfield got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for fifteen rebounds and four assists. Despite Barfield's great performance NSH GMC lost 85-96 to the higher-ranked Pacific Caesar (#5, 7-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of NSH GMC not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Barfield could try to bring NSH GMC's a little bit higher in the standings. Barfield has individually a great season in Indonesia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.8ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 14.9rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gary Jacobs (188-PG-92) of NSH GMC - 31 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists
5. Jarron Crump (183-PG-92) of Satya Wacana - 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa - 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Kore White (205-F-89) of Pelita Jaya - 26 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Chris Brand (208-F-90) of JNE BSC - 13 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Nate Maxey (211-C-92) of Satya Wacana - 3 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Raheem Singleton (182-PG-89) of JNE BSC - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Review of IBL Round 1 of Quarter-Finals - 21 days ago
Aspac - Pacific Caesar 96-73 Aspac coastd past Pacific Caesar to take 1-0 lead in the series. It looked good early as Pacific Caesar took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aspac had a 39-24 second period charge getting the lead and Pacific Caesar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-96. They outrebounded Pacific Caesar 56-40 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aspac players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American p...   [read more]
