JaJuan Smith
American Guard JaJuan Smith (188-G-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hang Tuah, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Satya Wacana (#11, 0-10), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-75. Hang Tuah is placed at 6th position in Indonesian IBL. Hang Tuah is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hang Tuah's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Tennessee star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (6th best: 22.9ppg), assists (2nd best: 5.6apg) and averages impressive 2.2spg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Hang Tuah's star - 26-year old American Falando Jones (193-G-90). Jones had a very good evening with 36 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Smith he helped Hang Tuah with another comfortable win 90-75 over Satya Wacana (#11, 0-10) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Hang Tuah to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Hang Tuah and similarly like JaJuan Smith has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chris Brand (208-F-90) of JNE BSC (#9). Brand scored 23 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Brand's great performance JNE BSC lost 63-88 to the higher-ranked CLS Knights (#2, 8-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of JNE BSC not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Brand could try to bring JNE BSC's a little bit higher in the standings. Brand has individually a great season in Indonesia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.8rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kore White (205-F-89) of Pelita Jaya - 16 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Nate Maxey (211-C-92) of Satya Wacana - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa - 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Dechriston McKinney (203-F-92) of CLS Knights - 15 points and 7 rebounds
8. Raheem Singleton (182-PG-89) of JNE BSC - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Jarron Crump (183-PG-92) of Satya Wacana - 14 points and 4 assists
10. Martavious Irving (185-PG-90) of Pelita Jaya - 26 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
