Chris Brand
26-year old forward Chris Brand (208-F-90) had a great game in the last round for JNE BSC and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 23 rebounds, while his team edged out Satya Wacana (#11, 0-7), the league's bottom-ranked team 65-62. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. JNE BSC is placed at 9th position in Indonesian league. JNE BSC is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game Brand had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at JNE BSC, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lincoln University of Pennsylvania graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brand is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 15.0rpg) and averages solid 3.0bpg and 54.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kore White (205-F-89) of Pelita Jaya. He is American-Jamaican forward in his first season at Pelita Jaya. In the last game White recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Pelita Jaya was edged by NSH GMC (3-4) 74-72. Pelita Jaya managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. White is one of the most experienced players at Pelita Jaya and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.4ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 13.3rpg and 3.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Nate Barfield (206-F/C-88) of NSH GMC (#7). Barfield got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds . He was a key player of NSH GMC, leading his team to a 74-72 win against Pelita Jaya (3-4). The chances of NSH GMC ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Barfield could help NSH GMC to bring them higher in the standings. Barfield has a great season in Indonesia. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.9ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 14.9rpg (3rd best). He also has 2.1spg and FGP: 58.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Andre Adriano (175-SG-94) of Satya Wacana - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa - 26 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Gary Jacobs (188-PG-92) of NSH GMC - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
7. JaJuan Smith (188-G-85) of Hang Tuah - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Chris Ware (203-C-89) of Garuda - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Yanuar Dwi Priasmoro (178-PF-89) of Bima Perkasa - 25 points and 6 rebounds
10. Andre Smith (208-C) of Hang Tuah - 13 points and 12 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Aspac - Pacific Caesar 96-73 Aspac coastd past Pacific Caesar to take 1-0 lead in the series. It looked good early as Pacific Caesar took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aspac had a 39-24 second period charge getting the lead and Pacific Caesar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-96.
