Kore White
American-Jamaican Kore White (205-F-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pelita Jaya and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 32 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Satya Wacana (#11, 0-6) with 26-point margin 95-69. Pelita Jaya is placed at 6th position in Indonesian IBL. Pelita Jaya is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game White had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Pelita Jaya, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of South Florida graduate has very impressive stats this year. White is in league's top in points (8th best: 23.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 12.5rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American forward Carlos Smith (206-F-90) of league's best team Satria Muda. Smith impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Satria Muda cruised to a 83-76 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Hang Tuah (#7, 3-3). Of course Satria Muda still keep the league's top spot. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 5 games without any defeat. Smith is a newcomer at Satria Muda and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.8ppg (#5). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Nate Barfield (206-F/C-88) of NSH GMC (#8). Barfield scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Barfield's great performance NSH GMC lost 74-91 to the higher-ranked Garuda (#4, 4-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of NSH GMC not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Barfield could try to bring NSH GMC's a little bit higher in the standings. Barfield has individually a great season in Indonesia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.8ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 16.4rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nate Maxey (211-C-92) of Satya Wacana - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Andre Smith (208-C) of Hang Tuah - 21 points and 16 rebounds
6. Ponsianus Indrawan (191-PF-85) of Pelita Jaya - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Chris Ware (203-C-89) of Garuda - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Tyreek Jewell (185-G-93) of Satria Muda - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Sherrard Brantley (188-G-90) of Garuda - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Respati Pamungkas (180-SG-91) of Pelita Jaya - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
