28-year old power forward Nate Barfield (206-F/C-88) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked NSH GMC and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had a double-double of 41 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Bima Perkasa (#8, 1-2) 103-91. NSH GMC is placed at 2nd position in Indonesian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. NSH GMC will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Barfield had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at NSH GMC, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Langston University, OK graduate has very impressive stats this year. Barfield is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.0ppg. Barfield is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 14.3rpg) and averages solid 65.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Sherrard Brantley (188-G-90) of Garuda. He is American guard in his first season at Garuda. In the last game Brantley recorded impressive 31 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Garuda to another comfortable win 91-75 over slightly lower-ranked Pacific Caesar (#6, 2-2) being unquestionably team leader. Garuda's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Brantley is one of the most experienced players at Garuda and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.7ppg (#5).

Third place about best performers goes to forward Pringgo Regowo (190-PF-87) of Aspac (#5). Regowo scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Aspac, leading his team to a 87-59 easy win against Satya Wacana (#11, 0-3). Aspac needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Regowo has a very solid season. In 3 games in Indonesia he scored 14.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kore White (205-F-89) of Pelita Jaya - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Gary Jacobs (188-PG-92) of NSH GMC - 32 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Nate Maxey (211-C-92) of Satya Wacana - 15 points and 13 rebounds
8. Chris Ware (203-C-89) of Garuda - 15 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Kevin Sitorus (196-PF-94) of Satria Muda - 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. David Seagers (188-G-88) of Pacific Caesar - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Both sides failed to make the playoffs and the ABL hasn't had a club from Indonesia since. Now Indonesia is back, represented by the proud CLS Knights Surabaya   [read more]

SEA Games: Indonesia come from behind to beat Singapore 70-54 - 2 months ago
They came into the game high on confidence. And for most part of the game, they stayed on top. But 12 missed free throws and an inability to execute plays properly down the stretch cost the Singapore national basketball dearly, leading them to a 54-70 defeat by Indonesia and dropping the side to a 2-1 record. A win would have seen them secure a spot in the semi-finals and also avoid powerhouse Philippines in the knockout stage. The match was also a repeat of the semi-finals in the 2015 SE...   [read more]
