American Guard JaJuan Smith (188-G-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hang Tuah, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (42 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Garuda (1-1) 94-91. Hang Tuah is placed at 6th position in Indonesian IBL. Hang Tuah is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got nine three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Hang Tuah's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Tennessee star has very solid stats this year. Smith is league's best scorer averaging so far 42.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 9.0rpg. Smith is in league's top in assists (9th best: 3.0apg) and averages impressive 55.6% FGP and 75.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old American Tyrell Corbin (184-PG-92) of Bima Perkasa. Corbin had a very good evening with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Bima Perkasa cruised to a 85-73 relatively comfortable win over JNE BSC (0-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Corbin is a newcomer at Bima Perkasa, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#5). He also registered 5.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Hang Tuah's star - American forward Andre Smith (208-C, college: William Jessup). Smith scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Hang Tuah, helping his team with a 94-91 win against Garuda (1-1). Hang Tuah needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victories and 1 lost game. The season just started for Smith as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Satria Muda - CLS Knights 74-69 Satria Muda overcame CLS Knights in the decisive third game of the semifinal series and sealed IBL Finals appearance. CLS Knights trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 21-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-74 at the end of the game. Pacific Caesar - Aspac 77-108 Aspac coasted past Pacific Caesar to sweep the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Aspac. Pacific Caesar managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aspac dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Pacific Caesar's 34. Review of IBL Round 1 of Quarter-Finals - 22 days ago
Aspac - Pacific Caesar 96-73 Aspac coastd past Pacific Caesar to take 1-0 lead in the series. It looked good early as Pacific Caesar took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aspac had a 39-24 second period charge getting the lead and Pacific Caesar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-96.
