Galank
Gunawan
Galank Gunawan (194-PF-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for Satria Muda and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 25-year old power forward had the game-high 7 points adding fourteen rebounds for Satria Muda in his team's victory, helping them to beat Pacific Caesar (#8, 3-5) 64-56. Satria Muda maintains the 6th position in Indonesian NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Satria Muda will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. Gunawan has many years of experience at Satria Muda, through which he has constantly improved. Gunawan has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 9.7rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old shooting guard Mohammad Wicaksono (189-SG-89) of Stadium Jak.. Wicaksono impressed basketball fans with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course he lead Stadium Jak. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Bimasakti (#9, 2-5) 78-40. This victory allowed Stadium Jak. to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Wicaksono is well-known by Stadium Jak. fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Stadium Jak.'s star - Anton Sujarwo (186-G-84). Sujarwo showcased his all-around game by recording 5 points, five rebounds and nine assists in the last round. He was another key player of Stadium Jak., helping his team with a 78-40 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Bimasakti (#9, 2-5). Stadium Jak. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Sujarwo has a very solid season. In 7 games in Indonesia he scored 4.4ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vinton Nolland (194-PF-82) of Garuda - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Hendru Ramli (188-G-88) of Garuda - 17 points
6. Agustinus Sigar (180-G-79) of Hangtuah - 21 points and 4 rebounds
7. Eko Sasmito (188-C-85) of Pacific Caesar - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Firdaus Julius Achmad (179-PG-87) of Satria Muda - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Airlangga Sabara (190-PF-85) of Pacific Caesar - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kelly Purwanto (177-PG-83) of Pelita Jaya - 4 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

SEA Games: Indonesia come from behind to beat Singapore 70-54 - 1 month ago
They came into the game high on confidence. And for most part of the game, they stayed on top. But 12 missed free throws and an inability to execute plays properly down the stretch cost the Singapore national basketball dearly, leading them to a 54-70 defeat by Indonesia and dropping the side to a 2-1 record. A win would have seen them secure a spot in the semi-finals and also avoid powerhouse Philippines in the knockout stage. The match was also a repeat of the semi-finals in the 2015 SE...   [read more]
