NBL Round 12: Pelita Jaya edges Hangtuah by two points - Jan 15, 2013

The most exciting game of round 12 in the NBL took place in Jakarta. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Hangtuah (4-3) to third ranked Pelita Jaya (6-1) 57-55 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hangtuah. They outrebounded Hangtuah 46-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Kelly Purwanto (177-83) who scored 4 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. The former international forward Ary Chandra (182-84) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Agustinus Sigar (180-79) who recorded 21 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Hangtuah at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Satria Muda. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Surabaya was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Satria Muda (4-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Pacific Caesar (3-5). Satria Muda managed to secure a 8-point victory 64-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pacific Caesar. It was a good game for Vamiga Michel (191-92) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Firdaus Julius Achmad contributed with 16 points for the winners. Satria Muda's coach Octaviarro Romely allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Airlangga Sabara (190-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for Pacific Caesar. Satria Muda moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hangtuah. Pacific Caesar at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Sakti. Local Bimasakti (2-5) was outscored by eighth ranked Stadium Jakarta (4-4) 78-40 on Monday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Anton Sujarwo who helped to win the game recording 5 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was Bima Rizky Ardiansyah with 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stadium Jakarta moved-up to seventh place. Bimasakti lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Stadium Jakarta's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta Tonga BSC.

In the last game of round 12 Garuda crushed Satya Wacana in Bandung 80-49.

Bimasakti - Stadium Jak. 40-78

The game with biggest result difference took place in Sakti. Local Bimasakti (2-5) was outscored by eighth ranked Stadium Jakarta (4-4) 78-40 on Monday night. Stadium Jakarta forced 24 Bimasakti turnovers and outrebounded them 41-25 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Stadium Jakarta looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bimasakti's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Anton Sujarwo (186-84) who helped to win the game recording 5 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and Merio Ferdiansyah (176-85) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bima Rizky Ardiansyah (182-90) with 8 points and 6 rebounds and Yanuar Dwi Priasmoro (178-89) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stadium Jakarta moved-up to seventh place. Bimasakti lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Stadium Jakarta's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta Tonga BSC.

Satya Wacana - Garuda 49-80

There was no surprise in Salatiga where 10th ranked Satya Wacana (2-6) was crushed by fifth ranked Garuda (5-3) 80-49 on Monday. Garuda dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Satya Wacana's 30. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Garuda made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Vinton Nolland (194-82) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Hendru Ramli (188-88) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Garuda players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Budi Sucipto (169-88) with 8 points and 4 assists and guard Respati Pamungkas (180-91) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Garuda moved-up to fourth place. Satya Wacana lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Garuda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Satya Wacana will play against the league's leader Dell Aspac (#1) in Jakarta and hope to secure a win.

Satria Muda Pertamina have won Perbasi Cup 2016 beating CLS Knights Surabaya in the Final game. Satria dominated the majority of the game to seal a 67-51 win. Dior Lowhorn (201-F-87, college: USF) stepped up with 24 points and 11 rebounds and was named MVP of the game. Rony Gunawan (194-C-80) followed him with 10 points. Semifinals of the Perbasi Cup 2016 are all set up - 2 months ago

The Semifinals of the Perbasi Cup 2016 will be played tonight at the Sportsmall Mahaka Square Kelapa Gading. Satria Muda Pertamina will take on Hangtuah Sumsel, while CLS Knights Surabaya will play against Pelita Jaya. In the latest games Satria Muda Britama Jakarta beat JNE BSC Bandung Utama 86-38. Pelita Jaya overcame Satya Wacana Salativa 67-52. Stadium Jakarta meanwhile outscored NSH GMC GSBC Jackarta 83-51 and Aspac Jakarta rolled over Pacific Caesar Surabaya 86-69.   [read more]
