The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Pelita Jaya as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Pelita Jaya smashed 7th ranked Satya Wacana in Jakarta 80-56. The game was mostly controlled by Pelita Jaya. Satya Wacana managed to win second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pelita Jaya dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Satya Wacana's 32. They outrebounded Satya Wacana 40-28 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Erick Sebayang (180-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. The former international forward Samuel Kurniahu (186-83) contributed with 5 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Adheska Abraham (179-91) replied with 10 points for Satya Wacana. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Pelita Jaya (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Satya Wacana at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Satya Wacana will play next round against Pacific Caesar trying to get back on the winning streak. Pelita Jaya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
Another exciting game for Hangtuah (3-2) which played in Sakti against Bimasakti (2-3). Sixth ranked Hangtuah won 66-60. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mei Joni (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds and Adhi Prasetyo who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Bima Rizky Ardiansyah (182-90) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Bimasakti's coach Bill McCammon rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tonga BSC left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Pacific Caesar. It was Pacific Caesar's fourth loss in a row. Tonga BSC will meet at home bottom-ranked NSH GMC Riau (#12) in the next round.
