Mongolia U18 - Indonesia U18 73:67

Mongolia could not advance into the Second Round of U18 Asia Championship. They managed to open win count beating Indonesia in the final game of preliminary round but it was not enough to reach the next stage. Mongolia remained in the fourth place in Group C. Indonesia finished in the third position at 1-2 record.
Mongolia started aggressively. The hosts piled up a 16:8 lead after ten minutes. Mongolia maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They established a 38:26 halftime lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the third term as Mongolia entered the final frame up by 12 points. However Indonesia fired 25 points in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to only 6 points at the end. Munkhnasan Lkhamjav (180-G-94) exploded with 33 points to lead Mongolia. Enkhtaivan Chinzorig (188-C-95) added 13 points for the winners. Jan Panagan (179-G-94) answered with 16 points for Indonesia. Katon Baskoro (184-G-94) had 15 points in defeat.

Indonesia wins 2016 ASEAN University Games with 5 participating teams. In the Final game they overcame Thailand 73-57. Earlier Indonesia finished second at the Robin Round with a 3-1 record losing the important game to Thailand 60-66. In the game for the third place Malaysia beat Singapore 65-56. Laos finished the tourney with a 0-4 record on the fifth place.   [read more]
