Chinese Taipei opened 24th FIBA Asia Championship for Women with the win over India. Sea Hat Omura Venue saw 81:53 victory in the opener of the tournament.
India opened the game with 4-0 but could not keep the lead. Lan Hao-Yu (171-F-83) nailed three for 11:7 and she also closed the quarter at 20:15. The advantage continued to grow in the second period as Liu Chun-Yi (180-F/C-81) made two free throws for 31:22. After 21-11 in the second quarter Chinese Taipei had 41:26 at the halftime. Chi-Wen LIN closed the third period at 66:38 when her team made the push for the victory. Both teams nailed 15 points each in the last stanza for the final result.
Liu Chun-Yi stepped up with 19 points for the winners, while Lan Hao-Yu and Ma Yi-Hung (176-F/G-80) nailed 11 apiece. Geethu Anna Jose (185-C-85) replied with 18 points in the losing effort, whilst Prashanti Singh (173-G-84) and Anitha Pauldurai (170-G-85) added 10 each.

India U18 - Malaysia U18 60:59 India recorded the crucial win at the U18 Asia Championship. They overcame hosting Malaysia in a tightly-contested battle to secure the place in Level I for the next edition of the tournament. India-Sri Lanka 114:27 India wins Level II with 4-0 record as they stormed past Sri Lanka in the start of the last day of the Preliminary Round. The team won 114:27 and remained undefeated. Sri Lanka meanwhile finished with 0-4 record. India won the first period 25-13 and added massive 33-6 in the second period.
