 It's been a while since the team from Bandung, West Java went to final. Seems like it's always been Aspac and Satria Muda in the finals since forever. As we all know both regular finalist teams are from the same city of Jakarta. 2008 finals gave us something different from league perspective. IBL showed to the Basketball enthusiasts in the country, which the league is running forward. Picture of boredom we did not see in this year finals.

 What a great Final in IBL Championship 2008. This year Satria Muda Britama make a history by winning A Mild IBL three times in a row (Threepeat). They put their name in Indonesian Basketball League history book by winning the fourth in Final at GOR C'Tra Arena, Bandung. It makes the score 3-1 (best of five) against Garuda Bandung. In the fourth game SM Britama beat Garuda Bandung 73-63, after a day before Geruda Bandung beat them 62-61 in a very tight game.

 In 2008 season Indonesia Basketball League, Satria Muda Britama proved that they are the best team in Indonesia. Within 3 times successively grabbed the IBL A Mild Trophy. After beat Bhinneka in semifinals, satria Muda Britama goes to final against Garuda Bandung. There were tight games between Satria Muda Britama and Garuda Bandung. After 2 points ahead in the 1st and 2nd games in Jakarta for Satria Muda, Garuda won by a nose and stole 1 point in the 3rd game in Bandung.

 Zain Club - MUBA Hangtuah 100:59 Jordanian Zain Club finished their preliminary action at the Asia Champions Cup on a high note. They eased past MUBA Hangtuah to reach the quarterfinal stage. In the meantime Indonesian outfit was knocked out of the playoffs and they would play for the 9th spot against ONGC from India. The teams kept it close in the starting frame with Zain Club forcing no issue. Zain however shrugged off their energy-saving style of play in the second period.

 BK Almaty - Muba Hangtuah 71:49 Kazakhstan BK Almaty strengthened their position in preliminary Pool A at the Asia Champions Cup in Kuwait. They overcame Indonesian Muba Hangtuah for the first win at the tournament. It allowed Kazakh team to improve to 1-1 record and stay hopeful about their chances to reach quarterfinal stage. Muba Hangtuah meanwhile slipped to 0-3 record and need pure luck to stay in title race.

 MABU Hangtuah started Asia Champions Cup with two losses, but gets enormous experience playing with other teams in the tournament. Al Rayyan looked too good for Indonesian MABU Hangtuah in the opening game of the Asia Champions Cup for both sides. They got into preliminary Group A of the 19th edition of the prestigious tournament held this year in Kuwait. The teams looked pretty well matched in the starting frame however Al Rayyan still managed to clear off to a 12-point distance.

 Satria Muda Britama advances to the IBL 2008 championship after winning in the semifinals against Bhinneka Solo. In the first game, they won easily 72-49. In the second game they once again beat Bhinneka by a comfortable margin of 81 -61. Many agree with Bhinneka's coach Ateng Sugiarto when he said that Satria Muda Britama is a complete team. They have bigger players and great shooters. Championship games will be held in Kelapa Gading, May 17-18.

 We will watch an interesting game in the second round play-off IBL 2008. The game between Kalila Jakarta and Garuda Bandung will be held at GOR C'tra Arena, Bandung, 19-20 April. Garuda Bandung will have the advantage because the game will be held at their home court, they will get full support from their home-based fans. But it won't be easy; Kalila Jakarta is a different team this year.

  Bhinneka Solo does not want to lose again playing against CLS Knights in the play-off A Mild IBL, 12-15 April 2008 at GOR Sahabat, Semarang. In their last meeting I Made Sudiadnyana and friends lost at Surabaya. Bhineka Solo has prepared well for this game. Anticipate hot weather in Semarang, Bhinneka Solo had their practice in day time. Bhinneka coach, Ateng, will still put their old and experienced players like I Mada Sudiadnyana, Anang Sulistyawan, and Danny Harahap.

 2005 Kobatama Champions, PIMNAD Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, is heading to the grand final of Kobatama 2007/2008 after beat Halim Kediri 64-58. The victory over Halim Kediri put this team on the top of the standing board with two wins and a lost. A Mild IBL All Star 2008 is Ready to Rock Palembang A Mild IBL All Star 2008 will be held in Palembang, the city that famous with its traditional food called empek-empek. The city is expecting the actions of pro basketball players from the league.

 Thailand - Indonesia 65:67 The hosts of the 24th SEA Games Thailand suffered their second loss in a row as they fell just short against Indonesia today. Indonesia climbed to 2-1 record and still ponders over their title prospects. It never looked like losing affair for Thailand at the start though. The hosts who were coming out of a sour start to their campaign rushed ahead early in the game. Thailand played aggressive basketball and rolled to a 26:20 lead after 10 minutes of action.
