South China clinched the title in Hong Kong. In the Final series they overcame Eastern with the final 86:76 win. South China won the opening period 23-15 and led also 8 points at the halftime. Eastern replied with a 24-20 rally in the third period, but could not save the game. South China needed a 25-19 surge in the last stanza to seal the victory. Hui Longer and Yu Li Yang top-scored for the winners with 23 points each. Lin Kaiguang nailed 14, while Lo Yi Ting posted 10. Raymond Siu Wing CHAN answered with 20 points in a loss.

The New Zealand men's basketball team has thumped Hong Kong 133-74 in their World Cup qualifying match in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (D1) confirmed in their roster 26-year old American guard Tyler Lamb (196-93kg-91, college: Long Beach State). He was a team leader there last season.
