Gilas Pilipinas found their groove in the final canto to stop Chinese Taipei, 90-83, to sweep the first window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers last November 27 (Manila time) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. Russia has withdrawn a bid to host the 2023 basketball World Cup, saying that international criticism of the country's athletes was to blame for the decision.
