The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

An interesting game for Anhui (19-5) which hosted in Anhui second-ranked Hunan (19-5). Third ranked Anhui had an easy win 113-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hunan. Anhui dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Hunan's 44. Anhui forced 25 Hunan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hunan's players. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) replied with 23 points for Hunan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anhui moved-up to second place, which they share with Guangxi and Hunan. Anhui is looking forward to face Guangxi (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hunan will play against the league's leader Shaanxi X. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
NBL top team - Shaanxi X. (22-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Wuhan (14-10) 93-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wuhan. American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and David Simon chipped in 28 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shaanxi X. have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-2 record. Newly promoted Wuhan keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Shaanxi X. will play against Hunan (#4) in Changsha in the next round. Wuhan will play at home against Chongqing and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Hebei was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Henan (12-13) played at the court of eighth ranked Hebei X. (13-12). Hebei X. managed to secure a 7-point victory 143-136 on Wednesday. Kenny Boynton notched a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!), 15 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort. Hebei X.'s coach Mike McGee used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 51 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 blocks by Rakeem Christmas did not help to save the game for Henan. Hebei X. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Henan at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Hebei X. will meet at home Luoyang (#11) in the next round. Henan will play against Beijing and hope to secure a win.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Guizhou (15-9) and Chongqing (9-15), which took place in Lanling. Higher ranked Guizhou lost to twelfth ranked Chongqing in a road game 109-115. The best player for the winners was Mindaugas Kupsas who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 23 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Chongqing have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain twelfth position with 9-15 record. Guizhou lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost. Chongqing's next round opponent will be higher ranked Wuhan (#6) and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Guizhou will play against Lhasa and hope to win that game.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 26: Lhasa beat Beijing on the road 110-102. Guangxi won against Hefei on its own court 102-84. Luoyang managed to outperform Jiangsu in a road game 113-107.
The most impressive performance of 26th round was 36 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds by Ebi Ndudi of Luoyang.

Beijing - Lhasa 102-110

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Lhasa (11-13) beat on the road 13th ranked Beijing (4-20) 110-102. 26 personal fouls committed by Beijing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 47 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward DaPeng Yang (199-93) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Marquis Weddle (185-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) added 20 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Lhasa and five Beijing players scored in double figures. Lhasa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Fujian. Beijing lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Lhasa's next round opponent will be higher ranked Guizhou (#5) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Beijing will play against Henan (#8) and hope to win that game.
