Guangzhou LL - Tianjin GL 121-95

Not a big story in a game in Guangzhou where 16th ranked Gold Lions (2-9) were outplayed by eleventh ranked Long-Lions (6-5) 121-95 on Saturday. Long-Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Gold Lions' 46 and made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Gold Lions 53-28 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gold Lions were plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Tyler Hansbrough (206-85, college: N.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) added 28 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Long-Lions moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gold Lions lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with nine games lost. Long-Lions will face Brave Dragons (#15) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Gold Lions will play on the road against Guandong Tigers in Dongguan and hope to win that game.
