American Point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-PG-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for Shanghai S., receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 28-year old player recorded a triple-double of 54 points adding also 13 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team edged out Beikong FD (#11, 3-3) 123-119. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Shanghai S. is placed at 9th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Shanghai S. will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Fredette had a remarkable eleven three-pointers out of 20 attempts. It's his second year at Shanghai S. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former Brigham Young University star has very solid stats this year. Fredette is in league's top in points (2nd best: 41.2ppg), assists (7th best: 6.5apg) and averages impressive 2.2spg and 47.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 34-year old American Shavlik Randolph (208-F-83) of Beikong FD. Randolph had a very good evening with a double-double of 44 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Beikong FD was edged by slightly higher-ranked Shanghai S. (#9, 4-2) 123-119. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Beikong FD dropped in the standings to 11th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Randolph is a newcomer at Beikong FD, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Courtney Fortson (180-PG-88, agency: 3Eye) of league's second-best Guangsha L.. Fortson got into 30-points club by scoring 48 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and fourteen assists. Despite Fortson's great performance Guangsha L. lost 116-118 to the lower-ranked Guangzhou LL (#8, 4-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Guangsha L. had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Fortson's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Fortson has a great season in China. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 32.6ppg (8th best) and assists with 13.0apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Carl Landry (206-F-83) of Jilin NE T. - 35 points and 13 rebounds
5. Sonny Weems (198-G/F-86) of Zhejiang GB - 41 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists
6. Jamaal Franklin (196-SG-91) of Sichuan BW - 41 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Dominique Jones (193-G-88) of Jiangsu TX MK - 38 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists
8. Luis Scola (206-F/C-80) of Shanxi BD - 40 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Jonathan Gibson (188-PG-87) of Qingdao E. - 45 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Kyle Fogg (190-PG-90) of Guangzhou LL - 58 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
