DARIUS ADAMS
28-year old point guard Darius Adams (188-PG-89, agency: Dutt Sports Services) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Xinjiang FT and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 38. He recorded a triple-double of 40 points adding also 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team outclassed Zhejiang GB (#11, 20-18) with 32-point margin 126-94. Xinjiang FT maintains the 6th position in Chinese league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Xinjiang FT will need more victories to improve their 25-13 record. In the team's last game Adams had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Xinjiang FT and it's hard to imagine this team without him. University of Indianapolis graduate has very impressive stats this year. Adams is league's best scorer averaging so far 38.7ppg. Adams is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 8.4apg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 54.9% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Ty Lawson (180-PG-87) of Shandong GS. He is a guard in his first season at Shandong GS. In the last game Lawson recorded impressive double-double of 55 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Shandong GS was edged by the lower-ranked Tianjin GL (#18, 8-30) 128-126. Shandong GS managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 27-11 record is not bad at all. Lawson is one of the most experienced players at Shandong GS and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward J.J. Hickson (206-F-88) of Jiangsu TX MK (#15). Hickson got into 30-points club by scoring 39 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds and six assists. Despite Hickson's great performance Jiangsu TX MK lost 106-111 to slightly higher-ranked Shanxi BD (#14, 16-22). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Jiangsu TX MK not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 23 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hickson could try to bring Jiangsu TX MK's a little bit higher in the standings. Hickson has individually a great season in China. After 38 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 14.7rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 56.4%.
