2017 CBA FINALS Xinjiang V Guangdong - Mar 19, 2017

The two best teams at the end of the 2016-17 CBA regular season will now meet for the CBA championship starting Friday , March 24th, Xinjiang and Guangdong in a rematch of the 2009,2010,and 2011 finals, all of which Guangdong won.

Xinjiang comes in with the leagues overall best regular season record and dispatching last years runner up finalist, Liaoning 4-1, while Guangdong disposed of rivals Shenzen 4-1.

Xinjiang is led by arguably the top player in the league, in Andray Blatche and chinese star Zhou Qi, while Guangdong is led by Yi Jianlian and the combination of Donald Sloan and former NBA all star Carlos Boozer.

Home court will belong to Xinjiang and that could prove to be crucial, as it is nearly impossible to win in Urumqi. These are the two best teams in the league, and have been for most of the season.

They split the season series 1-1, but in one of those wins came at the expense of a Andray Blatche-less Xinjiang team in Dongguan. Xinjiang is the deeper team, while Guangdong has more experience. Coaching is even, as Du Feng has been in plenty of big series both as a player and coach, while Coach Li has a championship under his belt in his days with Shanghai and has been playoff tested.
