Xinjiang rallied past Liaoning to take 2-0 lead in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 62-45 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 20 Flying Leopards turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Flying Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Qiuping Liu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) replied with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Dejun Han (215-89) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Flying Leopards. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Guangdong held off Shenzhen for the second straight win in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Leopards managed to win second period 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. International center Muhao Li (218-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) added 19 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Leopards. Five Guandong Tigers and four Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

Samuel Hoskin (206-F/C-79, college: De Paul, agency: Higher Vision Sports) 37, retires from basketball today to become Assistant Coach and coach of player development in China at the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, a Chinese Basketball Association club that he played for in 2008-09. Defending champion Xinjiang Flying Tigers (CBA) hired experienced 53-year old Latvian coach Igors Miglinieks. He coached most recently at BK Jekabpils in Latvian LBL league.
