After two straight successful games, the league's regular season top-notch team of the Xinjiang Flying Tigers will be looking to finish off their best-of-five semifinal games series against the Liaoning Flying Leopards on Wednesday.
Xinjiang, which ended the regular season with an impressive 32-6 win-loss record, enjoys a commanding 2-0 lead after dominating the first two matches over Liaoning. The Flying Tigers crushed their opponent in the opener 118-93 and prevailed in the second game with a 102-90 on Sunday. Foreign reinforcements Andray Blatche (211-F/C-86) and Darius Adams (188-PG-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) will be expected to lead the squad in claiming their ticket for the championship round of the largest professional basketball in China.
Liaoning, which entered the finals last season, will be trying to get a win to extend the series. Another defeat would mean an end to their campaign for this season. American imports Lester Hudson (190-SG-84, college: Tenn-Martin) and Shavlik Randolph (208-F-83, college: Duke) will definitely be having a tougher task in avoiding a sweep.
If the Tigers were to be successful in Game 3, it will be the team's fifth CBA Finals appearance. Xinjiang has not yet won a CBA title after four trips to the championship round of the Chinese league.
