Xinjiang FT got to the winning start of their semifinal series versus Liaoning. The game without a history. Xinjiang Flying Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Xinjiang Flying Tigers forced 20 Flying Leopards turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Flying Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Xinjiang Flying Tigers's coach Qiuping Liu felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Flying Leopards. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Guangdong rallied past Shenzhen in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Leopards managed to win second period 33-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 assists. The former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Leopards. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
