Shandong cruised past Xinjiang FT in the opener. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Shandong Bulls' coach Aleksandar Kesar used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tige.

Liaoning outgunned Guangsha to take the lead in the quarterfinal series. Liaoning Hunters made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Zhejiang Guangsha Lions turnovers. Liaoning Hunters shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Ailun Guo (192-93) nailed 29 points, 7 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) accounted for 25 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Taiwanese guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-82) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Guandong Tigers outrebounded Sichuan BW 58-40 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Peng Zhou (210-89) chipped in 28 points and 5 rebounds. Guandong Tigers' coach Feng Du allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice, agency: Stealth Sport) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) added 17 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Shenzhen crushed visiting Shanghai for the first victory in the series. Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Sharks' 44. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Shanghai Sharks' players. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) stepped up and scored 29 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) chipped in 28 points and 10 rebounds. Four Leopards players scored in double figures. At the losing side French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center ZhaoXu Zhang (221-87, college: California) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
