Experienced American Lester Hudson (190-SG-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Liaoning H. and that's him to receive a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 32-year old shooting guard had a double-double of 48 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Zhejiang CB (#16, 10-28) with 60-point margin 155-95. Liaoning H. maintains the 5th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Liaoning H. will need more victories to improve their 29-9 record. In the team's last game Hudson had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range and got eight three-pointers out of 15 attempts. It's his second year at Liaoning H. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. University of Tennessee at Martin graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hudson is in league's top in points (7th best: 32.5ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 59.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-PG-89) of second-ranked Shanghai S.. Fredette impressed basketball fans with 73 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Shanghai S. was edged by Guangsha L. (30-8) 135-132. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Shanghai S. still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 30-8 record is not bad at all. Fredette is a newcomer at Shanghai S. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 37.3ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 7.9rpg and 4.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was Jordanian Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) of Jiangsu TX (#18). Abbas got into 30-points club by scoring 43 points in the last round. He went also for nineteen rebounds and four assists. Despite Abbas' great performance Jiangsu TX lost 89-106 to the higher-ranked Jilin NE T. (#14, 14-24). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Jiangsu TX can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-30 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Abbas he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Abbas has a very solid season. In 30 games in China he scored 21.9ppg. He also has 10.9rpg and FGP: 56.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jabari Brown (193-G/F-92) of Jilin NE T. - 50 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Courtney Fortson (180-PG-88) of Guangsha L. - 48 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Dominique Jones (193-G-88) of Qingdao E. - 38 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists
7. Errick McCollum (185-PG-88) of North Control B. - 47 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jamaal Franklin (196-SG-91) of Shanxi Zh. - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists
9. Dwight Buycks (191-PG-89) of Fujian QB - 41 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Zhelin Wang (215-PF-94) of Fujian QB - 25 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
