The Regular Season in CBA is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 7 rounds. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Shanghai Sharks (25-6) in Urumqi on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Xinjiang Flying Tigers (25-6) 109-95. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Xinjiang Flying Tigers forced 20 Shanghai Sharks turnovers and outrebounded them 49-33 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Xinjiang Flying Tigers made 7 blocks. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) chipped in 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Xinjiang Flying Tigers's coach Qiuping Liu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) produced 30 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Xinjiang Flying Tigers used an opportunity after Shanghai S. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Shanghai Sharks. Xinjiang Flying Tigers is looking forward to face Fujian (#16) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against Qingdao Eagles (#12) and are hoping to win this game.
The game in Jinan was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Leopards (20-11) played at the court of seventh ranked Shandong Bulls (19-12). Shandong Bulls defeated Leopards 117-106. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leopards. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Justin Dentmon contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for Leopards. Leopards' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shandong Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 19-12 record. Leopards at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Shandong Bulls will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leopards will play on the road against TianJin Steel (#11) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Hangzhou, where 13th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (13-18) lost to sixteenth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (10-21) in a road game 99-114 on Tuesday. It was a great evening for Willie Warren who led his team to a victory scoring 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Henry Sims responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 21 rebounds. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank moved-up to fifteenth place. Shanxi Zhongyu lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will meet Jiangsu TX (#18) on the road in the next round. Shanxi Zhongyu will play against Sichuan BW (#9) and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game took place in Tianjin, where 4th placed Guandong Tigers (23-8) lost to twelfth ranked TianJin Steel (15-16) in a road game 122-132. It was an exceptional evening for Eugene Jeter who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Guandong Tigers' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TianJin Steel moved-up to eleventh place. Guandong Tigers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. TianJin Steel's next round opponent will be higher ranked Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guandong Tigers will play at home against Beijing Ducks and hope to win that game.
An interesting game took place in Ningbo, where higher ranked Jilin Tigers (12-19) lost to nineteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (6-25) in a road game 87-97 on Tuesday. Yuchen Zou fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayi Rockets maintains nineteenth place with 6-25 record. Jilin Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Bayi Rockets will face higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#3) in Yingkou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Other games of round 31 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Liaoning H. defeated Qingdao E. in Yingkou 113-100. North Control B. was beaten by Jiangsu D. at home 109-115. Fujian QB lost to Sichuan BW on the opponent's court 111-115. Jiangsu TX unfortunately lost to Guangsha L. in a home game 92-107. Beijing D. managed to beat Guangzhou on the road 86-76.

Shandong FB - Shenzhen L. 117-106

The game in Jinan was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Leopards (20-11) played at the court of seventh ranked Shandong Bulls (19-12). Shandong Bulls defeated Leopards 117-106. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leopards. Shandong Bulls made 35-of-44 charity shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while Leopards only scored nineteen points from the stripe. Leopards were plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Yanyuhang Ding (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. American point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington) contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Leopards. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Leopards' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shandong Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 19-12 record. Leopards at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Shandong Bulls will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leopards will play on the road against TianJin Steel (#11) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Qingdao Eagles (14-16) were defeated at home by third ranked Liaoning Hunters (24-7) 113-100 on Tuesday. Liaoning Hunters made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. His fellow American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists and Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Liaoning Hunters and four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Liaoning Hunters have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 24-7 record behind leader Shanghai S., which they share with Guangsha L. Loser Qingdao Eagles dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Liaoning Hunters will face Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against the league's leader Shanghai Sharks (#1) and hope to win that game.

American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) produced 38 points (!!!) and 6 assists and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four North Control players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons maintains tenth place with 16-15 record. Loser North Control keeps the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Sichuan BW - Fujian QB 115-111

Very expected game when 15th ranked Fujian (9-22) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Sichuan BW (17-14) 115-111 on Tuesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sichuan BW dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Fujian was plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Guard Rongqi Huang (190-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) produced 32 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Linjian Chen (198-93) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Five Sichuan BW and four Fujian players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains ninth place with 17-14 record.
