There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Bottom-ranked Guangzhou managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against nineteenth-ranked Bayi Rockets 96-85. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) fired 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International center Ziming Fan (211-98) chipped in 27 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Yuchen Zou (203-96) produced 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 blocks for lost side. Bayi Rockets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guangzhou (5-23) moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with Bayi R. Bayi Rockets lost fifth consecutive game. Guangzhou is looking forward to face higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#7) in Jinan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bayi Rockets will play on the road against Guandong Tigers (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
Leader Shanghai Sharks delivered the twenty fourth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (13-15) 97-92 in Taiyuan. Worth to mention a great performance of French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 6 assists. XiaoYu Liu contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) replied with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for Shanxi Zhongyu. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shanghai Sharks have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-4 record. Shanxi Zhongyu at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with TianJin S.. Shanghai Sharks will play against Fujian (#16) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanxi Zhongyu will play at home against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Hangzhou between Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and Beijing Ducks. Sixteenth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (9-19) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Beijing Ducks (15-13). Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank managed to escape with a 3-point win 108-105 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Worth to mention a great performance of Lorenzo Brown who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side Stephon Marbury responded with 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Beijing Ducks' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser Beijing Ducks keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will meet at home North Control (#18) in the next round. Beijing Ducks will play against Jiangsu TX (#17) and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Nanjing, where higher ranked Shandong Bulls (16-12) lost to twelfth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (14-14) in a road game 92-100. The winners were led by MarShon Brooks who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to tenth place. Shandong Bulls at the other side keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons' next round opponent will be TianJin Steel (#12) in Tianjin.
An interesting game took place in Changchun, where higher ranked Sichuan BW (15-13) lost to fourteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (12-16) in a road game 85-102 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sichuan BW. Jabari Brown fired 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists for the winners. Jilin Tigers maintains fourteenth position with 12-16 record. Defending champion Sichuan BW dropped to the eighth place with 13 games lost. Jilin Tigers will face league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

Rest of the games of round 28 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Qingdao E. was crushed by Guangdong ST in Dongguan 125-96. Xinjiang FT beat Shenzhen L. at home 113-107. Liaoning H. won against Fujian QB on the opponent's court 126-116. Guangsha L. managed to outperform North Control B. in a home game 107-92. TianJin S. managed to beat Jiangsu TX on the road 117-110.
The best stats of 28th round was 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by Peng Zhou of Guangdong ST.

Guangdong ST - Qingdao E. 125-96

There was no surprise in Dongguan where 11th ranked Qingdao Eagles (13-14) were crushed by third ranked Guandong Tigers (22-6) 125-96 on Monday. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Eagles' 50 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 53-34 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Qingdao Eagles' players. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Peng Zhou (210-89) fired 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Five Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers maintains third position with 22-6 record having just two points less than leader Shanghai S. Loser Qingdao Eagles keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game in Urumqi where second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (23-5) defeated 6th ranked Leopards (18-10) 113-107 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Leopards were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) fired a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Jiangsu TX (7-21) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked TianJin Steel (13-15) 117-110 on Sunday. Jiangsu TX was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) fired a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds. Four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) produced a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and American guard Jared Cunningham (193-91, college: Oregon St.) added 35 points (!!!) respectively for lost side. Jiangsu TX's coach Qiang Xu gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TianJin Steel moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Loser Jiangsu TX keeps the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. TianJin Steel will face higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#10) in Nanjing in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jiangsu TX will play on the road against Beijing Ducks (#8) and hope to win that game.

A very close game took place in Hangzhou between Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and Beijing Ducks. Sixteenth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (9-19) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Beijing Ducks (15-13). Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank managed to escape with a 3-point win 108-105 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Lorenzo Brown (196-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Yongpeng Zhang (208-90) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 9 assists and his fellow American import forward Grant Jerrett (208-93, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds. Five Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser Beijing Ducks keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will meet at home North Control (#18) in the next round. Beijing Ducks will play against Jiangsu TX (#17) and hope to secure a win.
