The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Shanghai Sharks (21-3) in Dongguan on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Guandong Tigers (20-4) 116-107. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Shanghai Sharks. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Sharks' 40 and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Peng Zhou (210-89) who added 30 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 16 for 16 at the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers maintains second position with 20-4 record behind leader Shanghai S. Shanghai Sharks at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Fujian (#15) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and are hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Guangzhou. Sixteenth ranked Fujian (7-17) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 20th ranked Guangzhou (4-20) 101-99 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by American forward J.J. Hickson (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and Zhelin Wang supported him with 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Fujian's coach WanJun Cui allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 29 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Guangzhou. Fujian have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Guangzhou lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Fujian will play against league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Guangzhou will play on the road against Sichuan BW (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Hangzhou between Qingdao Eagles and Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Fourteenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (10-13) got a very close victory on the road over 15th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (7-17). Qingdao Eagles managed to escape with a 3-point win 108-105 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Dominique Jones who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Qingdao Eagles' coach XiaoBin Gong used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Willie Warren who recorded 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to twelfth place. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Fujian QB. Qingdao Eagles will meet at home Jiangsu TX (#18) in the next round where they are favorite. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against Bayi Rockets and hope to secure a win.
Eighth ranked Beijing Ducks (13-11) crushed at home 13th ranked TianJin Steel (10-14) by 26 points 109-83, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a good game for Shuo Fang who led his team to a victory with 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Ducks maintains eighth position with 13-11 record. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Beijing Ducks' next round opponent will be Shanxi Zhongyu (#9) in Taiyuan. TianJin Steel will play on the road against North Control (#17) in Beijing and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 24: Shenzhen L. lost to Liaoning H. on the opponent's court 101-115. North Control B. unfortunately lost to Shandong FB in a home game 113-120. Jilin NE T. recorded a loss to Shanxi Zh. on the road 99-112. Jiangsu D. defeated Sichuan BW on its own court 110-94. Xinjiang FT beat Jiangsu TX in Urumqi 104-89. Guangsha L. won against Bayi R. at home 84-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks by Yuchen Zou of Bayi R..

Liaoning H. - Shenzhen L. 115-101

Rather expected game in Yingkou where 6th ranked Leopards (16-8) were defeated by fourth ranked Liaoning Hunters (19-5) 115-101. Liaoning Hunters made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. Liaoning Hunters players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. The former international center Dejun Han (215-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) added 22 points and 4 assists in the effort for Leopards. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leopards' coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liaoning Hunters have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Very predictable result in Beijing where seventh ranked Shandong Bulls (14-10) defeated 17th ranked North Control (5-18) 120-113. Shandong Bulls forced 22 North Control turnovers. 32 personal fouls committed by North Control helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). There was no surprise when 18th ranked Jiangsu TX (5-19) was defeated at home by third ranked Xinjiang Flying Tigers (19-5) 104-89. 26 personal fouls committed by Jiangsu TX helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Stealth Sport) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds.
