Jewell Loyd is a newcomer at Shanxi

Shanxi Flame (WCBA) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American international guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame). She played this summer at Seattle Storm (WNBA). In 26 WNBA games she recorded very impressive stats: 16.6ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.2apg and 1.3spg. The last season she played at Galatasaray in Turkish KBSL where in 24 games she averaged remarkable 18.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 3.3apg. Loyd helped them to make it to the cup final. Great season indeed as she was voted to Eurobasket.com Turkish KBSL All-Imports Team and 2nd Team. She also played 17 games in Euroleague where she was fourth best scorer with 14.9ppg and had 3.9rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg. Loyd contributed to her team making it to the quarterfinals. A very good season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com Euroleague All-Imports Team and Honorable Mention.
Last year she was drafted by Seattle Storm (WNBA) as #1 pick overall.
Loyd attended University of Notre Dame until 2015 and it will be her second season in pro basketball.
She also represented USA at the World Championships U17 in France six years ago. Loyd's team won Gold and her stats at that event were 8 games: 8.6ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.5apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 51.5%, 3PT: 35.3%, FT: 81.0%.
