Samuel
Hoskin
American-Liberian power forward Samuel Hoskin (206-F/C-79, agency: Higher Vision Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Jilin NE T., receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Zhejiang CB (#8, 13-12) 117-103. Jilin NE T. is placed at 13th position in Chinese CBA. Jilin NE T. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-16 record. Hoskin turned to be Jilin NE T.'s top player in his first season with the team. Samuel Hoskin averages this season 21.3ppg and 10.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old American Peter John Ramos (222-C-85) of Guangsha L.. Ramos had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Guangsha L. lost that game 96-113 to the higher-ranked Beijing Ducks (#3, 18-7). Guangsha L. managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ramos is a newcomer at Guangsha L., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Garret Siler (213-C-86) of Jiangsu D. (#14). Siler scored 25 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Siler's great performance Jiangsu D. lost 101-127 to the higher-ranked Liaoning H. (#6, 14-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Jiangsu D. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 16 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Siler could try to bring Jiangsu D.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Siler has a very solid season. In 25 games in China he scored 18.0ppg. He also has 11.2rpg, 2.2bpg and FGP: 72.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Donnell Harvey (203-F/C-80) of TianJin S. - 27 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Zhelin Wang (215-PF-94) of Fujian QB - 28 points and 17 rebounds
6. Charles Gaines (201-F-81) of Shanxi Zh. - 23 points and 27 rebounds
7. Sundiata Gaines (185-G-86) of Fujian QB - 35 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Dewarick Spencer (193-G-82) of Jilin NE T. - 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Marcus Haislip (208-F-80) of DongGuan L. - 27 points and 3 rebounds
10. Von Wafer (196-G-85) of Xinjiang FT - 31 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
