McGrady
33-year old swingman Tracy McGrady (203-G/F-79) put on an amazing game in the last round for Qingdao E. and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 22.
He had a double-double of 38 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Jilin NE T. (#14, 7-14) 104-96. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Qingdao E. maintains the 17th position in Chinese league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 17 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game McGrady had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Qingdao E.'s top player in his first season with the team. McGrady has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (9th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 57.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jianlian Yi (212-PF-87) of top-ranked Guangdong ST. He is international forward in his first season at Guangdong ST. In the last game Yi recorded impressive double-double of 38 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Guangdong ST cruised to a 109-101 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Zhejiang CB (#9, 10-10). Of course Guangdong ST still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 18 matches. Yi is a newcomer at Guangdong ST and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Shavlik Randolph (208-F-83) of Foshan LL (#12). Randolph got into 30-points club by scoring 44 points in the last round. He went also for seventeen rebounds . He was a key player of Foshan LL, leading his team to a 129-119 win against the higher-ranked Guangsha L. (#8, 11-10). The chances of Foshan LL ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Randolph could help Foshan LL to bring them higher in the standings. Randolph has a great season in China. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 29.2ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 13.8rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 51.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Charles Gaines (201-F-81) of Shanxi Zh. - 33 points and 18 rebounds
5. Gilbert Arenas (192-G-82) of Shanghai S. - 37 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Peter John Ramos (222-C-85) of Guangsha L. - 27 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Wei Liu (190-PG-80) of Shanghai S. - 29 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Will McDonald (211-C-79) of Fujian QB - 33 points and 14 rebounds
9. Chris Daniels (211-C-84) of Qingdao E. - 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Donnell Harvey (203-F/C-80) of TianJin S. - 12 points, 20 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Recap of CBA Round 1 of Quarter-Finals - 1 day ago
