DongGuan New Century Leopards (CBA) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old USA ex-international point guard Blake Ahearn (188-86kg-84, college: Missouri State). He already started the season at Indiana Pacers in the NBA. Ahearn ended the last season at the Jazz in NBA. In 6 games last year he recorded just 2.5ppg. But the most of that year he spent at Bighorns in D-League. In 37 games he was the best scorer with impressive 23.8ppg and had 2.6rpg, 4.9apg and 1.1spg. Great season indeed as he was voted to All-D-League 1st Team and to the All-Star Game. The most of previous (10-11) season Ahearn spent at Erie Bay Hawks in D-League. In 34 games that season he averaged impressive 16.7ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.9apg and 1.0spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Gatorade All-D-League Honorable Mention. Ahearn also played at BancaTercas in Italian Nazionale C earlier that season. In 6 games he averaged 9.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.3apg.
In 2007 he was drafted by Dakota Wizards (D-League) in fourth round (55th overall).
The former Missouri State star is in his sixth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements He played in the final of MVC Tournament in 2005. Ahearn received also NABC All-NCAA District 12 2nd Team award back in 2007 at his college time. Ahearn represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Guadalajara (Mexico) last year. His team won Bronze but his stats at that event were not that incredible as he did not score anything.
Ahearn has played also professionally in Spain (Asefa Estudiantes), NBA (San Antonio Spurs) and D-League (Santa Cruz Warriors, Austin Toros and Bakersfield Jam).
