The season has officially kicked off, and 2 teams are undefeated, no surprise that the Beijing Ducks are undefeated at 3-0 but maybe a little of a shock, is the Shangdong club is undefeated at 3-0. The team was one of the worse teams last season, thus they are afforded an extra Asian import. Guangdong, who boasts a team of 3 former NBA lottery picks and 5 NT members stands at 2-1 with their lone loss coming on the road vs perennial juggernaut XInjiang, who is also 2-1 after a surprising loss at Foshan.

Qingdao who made the 1st big signing splash of the offseason when they inked Tracy McGrady, is a paltry 0-3, with McGrady doing all he can, but unable to secure a win yet, due to the lack of local talent. Shanghai who was a surprise last season, and one of the top defensive clubs, is 0-3 after releasing Elijah Millsap and opting to sign Gilbert Arenas, who played less then a quarter and has missed the past 2 games, due to a strain muscle in his leg. Shanghai has been blown out in each of their 3 losses, DJ White has been struggling as well, as teams focus on him defensively since Shanghai is playing with 1 import.

The early season MVP is clearly Yi Jianlian, as he has completely dominated the competition.
