Guangsha L. - Zhejiang CB 95-81

Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 55-40 second half run of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. They made 19-of-19 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) accounted for 22 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). American guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and international JinHui Ding (204-89) added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank in the defeat.

The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-15 Qingdao Eagles' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 95-92 at the end of the game. Fujian made 25-of-25 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Fujian players scored in double figures. American swingman Tracy McGrady (203-79) answered with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Congolese-Belgian center Ilunga Mbenga (214-80) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Qingdao Eagles.

Foshan was better in third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shandong Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Foshan's 36. Shandong Bulls forced 21 Foshan turnovers. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners and forward Ding Yanyuhang (200-93) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Mingxin Ju (200-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and American swingman Rashad McCants (193-84, college: N.Carolina) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds.

Jilin Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and were smashed by the opponent from Yingkou 103-84 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-84. Liaoning Hunters made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Liaoning Hunters had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Liaoning Hunters especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) stepped up and scored 46 points (!!!) for the winners and American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 23 points and 13 rebounds.
